Day 18

Last night was one of those nights where I couldn't sleep for the life of me.

Since I wasn't going to be working until later today, I had this genius plan to get up early and go to the gym before meeting my friend for lunch and then finally going into work.

I got into bed at 11, snuggled up in my blankets and turned on some soft music. When I saw the clock hit 12:00 and then 1:00, I realized falling asleep wasn't going to be an easy task.

I started playing a game that I used to play nightly in high school. I called it the "if I fall asleep now" game.

"If I fall asleep now I'll get 6 hours of sleep."

"If I fall asleep now I'll get 5 1/2 hours of sleep"

"If I fall asleep now I'll get 5 hours of sleep"

When I reached "if I fall asleep now I'll get 2 1/2 hours of sleep" I gave up all hope of functioning normally today. I fell asleep at one point between then and when my alarm went off. I can't remember ever being so angry at my alarm.

Needless to say I didn't make it to the gym.

So here is my day 18 outfit.

But Melissa... we don't remember seeing that yellow skirt in your 30 pieces. Did you cheat?

Of course not. But I did get creative.
Remember this skirt from day 9?

I noticed the other day that I really liked the inside liner of that skirt so I decided to investigate.

Step #1. Remove all of the inside tags

Step 2: Figure out how to make the reverse side of the buttons look nice.

Solution: attach buttons on the inside as well.

Step 3: attach buttons.

My sewing talents are limited but I sure can sew on a button.

I added a belt and that was that!

I'm so happy that my skirt is now two skirts that I'm going to try to reverse all of my clothes!

If inside out skinny jeans don't get me some creativity points then nothing will! ;)

  15. That looks great! I turned a skirt inside out recently and it really is a great way to double your weardrobe. My skirts lining was no where near as cute as yours though!!

  19. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone :)

I've been investigating the inside of all my clothes and so far they all just look like inside out clothes. Stupid double sided skirt got my hopes up! ;)

  20. I just found you through Kendi's blog, and I'm SO glad I did! Such a resourceful little trick. I have a Tulle dress that I LOVE the inside of, and I'm going to try this (and see what other things I can reverse).
