london drugs beauty event

I had the honour of attending the London Drugs beauty event last week with my lovely date Jen. The event was absolutely stunning and I loved having the opportunity to view what's coming soon to the London Drugs beauty department. I also felt extremely spoiled when I found out we were being flown to the event by helicopter.

Each week I'm going to show you some of the beauty products coming to London Drugs but until then, here are a few photos of the event itself.

I will be showing you some of the beauty products in a few vlogs so if you have any vlog requests or suggestions please comment below!

Last week I had the opportunity to preview some of Fall's cosmetic palettes, as well as some face products coming exclusively to London Drugs. The LD Beauty event was amazing and I can't wait to test out the products and tell you about my favorites. I don't even want to know how much money I have spent on makeup, face creams and other fun "new" and exciting products in the past. After filling buckets full of unused and disappointing products, I now usually stick to buying my favorites and I'm kind of scared to try anything new! (I'm also a sucker for fancy packaging and may or may not be guilty of purchasing the same product twice in a matter of weeks because they changed the bottle.) I will make sure to let you all know which products get the Melissa stamp of approval... in other words, which products are pink and have pretty packaging.

Vancouver Fashion Showcase

Vancouver has such an amazing fashion community and the Vancouver Fashion Showcase did an outstanding job at showcasing it. They partnered with Dress for Success to put together a spectacular weekend of parties and shopping. I attended the opening gala at the art gallery where 30 top fashion retailers were featured in one of the most upbeat and unique fashion shows I’ve ever seen. It started off with a Michael Jackson impersonator and featured other dancers throughout. So much fun.

Cara, who has a gown collection that would put Kate Middleton’s to shame, was my date and we enjoyed some wine, oogled over a gorgeous display of Stella & Dot jewelry and tasted some delicious cake. And of course, we chatted with some of Vancouver’s most fashionable people.

Guess what I did on Wednesday?

Wednesday night I attended the Guess Event on Robson hosted by 4 of my favourite bloggers Alicia, Kelsey, Niki and Olivia.

The ladies did such a fantastic job putting the event together. It was a night of style, great food, meeting some of my favourite bloggers and shopping for a good cause - and that's the best kind of shopping! A $5 donation to FITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship), a nonprofit organization supporting women in the developing world, got you 20% off your purchase.

The stunning sisters - Larissa and Kelsey

with Niki, one of the lovely hosts

And what's an event without a "celebrity sighting". All you Peak Season fans... eat your hearts out.

It was also great to see/meet some other bloggers that I wasn't able to sneak a picture with! Jen, Jillian, Jen (#2), Monica and Jessica!

Fashion`s Night Out Vancouver

Top: Vintage. Pants: Gap. Pumps & Necklace: Banana Republic

Getting ready for Vancouver's Fashion`s Night Out was a two step process. Step 1: Get dressed. Step 2: Take as much cold medicine as possible and drink as much coffee as my body could handle. Who knew a cold could kick your butt for so many days!

Luckily, this event was worth pushing through the last stages of this cold for. Held at Earl`s V Lounge in Yaletown, Fashion`s Night Out was in support of Out in Schools, an amazing organization that raises  awareness about homophobia and bullying.

The fashion show was to present the latest Spring collections from The Bay's White Space. There were some stunning pieces that make me really excited for Spring!

The night was such a success! Niki, Erin, Raul and Ashley did such a great job. It was also really nice to see (and meet) some of my favourite Vancouver bloggers!

If you weren`t able to attend this event, you can still donate to Out in Schools by visiting their website.
