Break Time

I'm finally feeling better after a week of feeling like garbage. Exhausted garbage. If you saw me last week I was in sweats and I looked like this.

Unfortunately I am now a week behind on life. Yesterday afternoon the reality of all the catching up I have to do this week finally hit me and I got a wee bit stressed. I was complaining about how I had nothing ready for my blog and a friend of mine suggested I take a week off my blog to focus on my non-blog life.

Whaaaaat?

That's so crazy it just might work.

So I'm going to be selfish for a week so I can come back organized (ha! who am I kidding) and refreshed on August 6th.

In the meantime, you can gently stalk me on twitter and instagram (missmelissa_k)

See you in a week!

Emotional Brilliance

I've been sickity sick all week so since I've been living in sweat pants I thought I would finally get around to telling you about the Lush event I attended recently. They launched a new cosmetic line, Emotional Brilliance, and I had the opportunity to take a sneak peek. There is a wide variety of rich and vibrant colors for your lips and eyes (priced at $22.95) and all of them are vegan. They also have a translucent powder and a few skin tints (priced at $18.95) that feel fantastic on the skin.
It was also amazing to have a face mask made right in front of us. We knew that Lush products were handmade but until you stand there and watch the kiwi and asparagus being pureed and put into the mask you don't quite grasp how handmade they are.

The Emotional Brilliance line launched in Lush on the 21st and if you haven't had a chance to check it out I definitely recommend that you do.

Happy Friday everyone!

So I've Realized...

{Wearing: J.Crew Blouse & Skirt, Aldo Pumps, Matt & Nat Clutch}

If I didn't have a style blog I wouldn't even blink an eye at re-wearing items in my closet. But for some reason, perhaps thanks to the fact that so many of my outfits are photographed, I feel like I have to jump up and down waving my arms to warn all of you that I am wearing something you've already seen.

Have any of you ever made me feel obligated to always wear new things? No. So where does this expectation come from? From my own crazy little mind. So here I am, jumping up and down to warn and waving my arms at you that nothing here is new.

If I've realized anything in the past month of barely shopping it's that I really do love styling newly purchased pieces with the pieces that are already in my closet and that I'm getting bored trying to restyle all the same clothing. I've also realized that if I were to go shopping, I'd need to take a sedative first, because I have absolutely no will power on a good day and after not shopping for so long I'd probably buy everything I could see. I've also realized that this problem is probably classified as a shopping problem... darn it!
