Time Flies

 {Wearing: Zara Collar, Club Couture Dress (c/o), Coach Bag, Steve Madden Pumps}

I really need to get my act together and figure out what I want to wear this spring. Normally by this point I would have already spent months drooling over Spring pieces in stores. I would have filled (and emptied) shopping carts on every online shop. I would have spent hours scouring through every fashion magazine. By this point I would have picked out and bought so many pieces that I wouldn't have time to wear them before Fall hit! This year I have done none of those things... but you know what they say, time flies when you're super busy with work. Wait, no, that's not the saying.

What trends are you looking forward to wearing this Spring? (Or at this rate... Summer!)

Surviving Spring

{Wearing: Zara Blazer, Modcloth Dress (old), Banana Republic Pumps (old), Coach Lindsey Bag, Barefoot Contessa Necklace, Coach Sunglasses}

Spring is here which means I have to put together my Spring Survival Kit. Mostly it's just Spring dresses, sunglasses, kleenex and a whoooole lot of allergy medicine. I'm talking boxes and boxes full of allergy medicine. I'm not sure exactly how much I have spent on allergy medicine over the years but if I were to make a rough estimate I'd guess about... 14 million dollars. Give or take a few dollars.

The last few years my allergies haven't been awful but this year I can already tell they are going to be horrible. So if I'm wearing sunglasses in a lot of pictures It's not because I like sunglasses, it's because my eyes are itchy and red. Oh, and there is a really good chance I'll have kleenex in all of my pockets. (Sadly I'm not kidding. If you look at the pockets of my dress they are lumpy. Those lumps are kleenex).

I was admittedly exhausted after work this past Wednesday when I met up with some of Vancouver's fashionistas and foodies for Jacquie Somerville's pre-launch book party at the Hotel Georgia. I had the honor of meeting Jacquie and after hearing her read excerpts from her book "My Fat Little Rule Book" I was so glad I attended the glamorous event even though my body was begging for me to go home and sleep! I honestly can't wait to get my hands on a copy. "The premise behind My Fat Little Rule Book is how a fashionista finally reconciled with being a foodie, and how she managed to lose the 'evil and obstinate last ten pounds'." As a girl who loves both fashion and food, I found her book to be extremely relatable. My Fat Little Rule Book will be available as an ebook soon, with a hard copy available soon after. I can't wait to read it.
