closet purge

 Wearing:
Zara Skirt and Top (old)
Fossil Watch (gift)
Essie Sleek Stick Manicure

Sunday brunch has become a guilty pleasure of mine so yesterday we decided to make brunch at home and follow it up with some time outside. The rest of the day was spent being lazy (don't judge) and finishing up a closet purge.
I find it so much easier to work with the pieces in my closet when I'm not distracted by clothes I don't love. I am trying to stick with dressing for me and not for the blog which made this closet purge a little easier. I was able to get rid of the pieces I had originally bought with my blog in mind. I am trying to recalibrate my style and figure out what I actually love to wear. This closet purge was a good place to start.

  1. I really need to purge my closet...it always feels really good to cut the fat out, so to speak. And I love, love, love this outfit...it's so perfect for fall and looks a little witchy (which I'm always a huge fan of).

  3. Your closet purge sounds great, Melissa. I did something very similar when I started the new blog and it felt so, so good!! I have since really tried to stay conscious about just shopping for me! Love the outfit by the way. I'm a sucker for pleats... so feminine and chic!!

  8. Love everything about this post. First: your outfit, love the satiny pleats against the lace top and the perfect lip color. Second: I can totally relate with trying to make more meals at home. Third: I appreciate how you talk about your struggles between dressing for you and dressing for the blog. And I am doing a closet purge as well!
