get organized

{Wearing: H&M Blazer & Dress, Zara Pumps, Club Monaco Belt & Plum Clutch}

So far my week off has been both relaxing and productive. There has been some sleeping in and napping, spontaneous painting of my living room and some intense closet cleaning. I'm on this huge spring cleaning kick and the one place I am really trying to get things organized is my 'closet room'. My closet is actually a small den (I know, I'm a brat) but I've never actually put the time or energy into making sure everything has a place. As a result, my closet always feels messy and disorganized. I have figured out my shoe and bag situation but I'm still unsure what I want to do with my jewelry.

If you have any jewelry organizing tips I'd love to hear them!

  1. I totally know the feeling. My closet is quite tiny when you think about it, but when I actually buckled-down and organized it I felt that I had much more room than before. It's SO much nicer when everything has a place. Search YouTube for 'Wendy's Lookbook D.I.Y. Jewelry Jewelry Holder' she has some great tips!

  2. My jewelry collection outgrew any sort of proper jewelry box ages ago, so when it was time to shop for furniture I picked the tall, skinny MALM dresser from IKEA--you know, the one with the dressertop that opens and reveals a mirror and a makeshift vanity. It has two large, shallow drawers underneath and a bunch of full-size-drawers--perfect for storing jewelry and accessories like scarves. I buy interlocking drawer dividers to make full use of the two shallow jewelry drawers and keep my statement necklaces, bracelets, and brooches from getting tangled.

  4. Love the dress!! I hang my jewelry on a wall coat rack with small hooks that I got at target! That way it doesn't get all tangled and I can easily see it (and it doesn't take up drawer or dresser space)!

  6. I use a tea towel rack to hang up my necklaces, keeps them from getting tangled & puts them on display!
