Baby you're a Firework

Outfit Details:
Dress: Plum

Thank you Katy Perry for the obvious blog post title. I do not love naming my blog posts. One thing I do love however? Traditions. In the couple years Mike and I have been dating we've tried to kept some traditions alive but unfortunately thanks to life getting in the way sometimes (and when I say life, I mean my work schedule) we've only been mildly successful. This was our third time watching the Celebration of Lights fireworks together and this year was by far my favourite. The first year we went down an hour before and found a spot on some rocks. Last year we got there 15 minutes before and watched from the street. This year we went down at 6 and spent the entire evening on the beach.

We read, listened to music, people watched, chatted and ate delicious food. We enjoyed the gorgeous weather until the sun went down and then we turned on the Shore 104.3 to listen to the music that accompanies the fireworks.

With how stressful busy work has been lately I've been really trying to find joy in moments like these. Otherwise I'd probably lose my mind.

The funny part is, I'm not a huge fan of fireworks. I just really love traditions. Do you share my love of traditions? Do you have any that you're looking forward to this summer?

  3. My bf and I watch the fireworks every year together too, though we watch from Vanier Park since it's a short walk from my house. I've never seen them at English Bay before since it's such a hassle to get back across the bridge but I'd like to. Your pictures make it look so fun (but busy!)
