Happy Love Day!

 Coat: Zara
Dress: Vintage (purchased here)
Tights: RW&Co
Booties: Urban Outfitters
Clutch: Plum
Gloves: Fine Finds

Happy Valentines Day my loves! I hope your day is filled with love, laughs and a ton of chocolate.

Speaking of love, I am in love with this vintage dress. I snatched it up as soon as I saw it over at The Vintage Valley. A red dress with poofy sleeves was perfect for a Valentines day lunch! Do you know what else goes perfectly with a Valentines day lunch? Adorable heart shaped desserts from a little bakery on Davie St.

So, In honor of this day of love, I decided to share some of the most loving world records ever.

Most couples married underwater - simultaneously
On 14 February 2001 (Valentine's Day), 34 couples from 22 countries simultaneously exchanged wedding vows 10 metres (32.8 ft) underwater near Kradan Island, Southern Thailand. This was organized by Trang Chamber of Commerce and Thai Airways International.

Most couples kissing simultaneously
The most couples kissing simultaneously was 6,980 (13,960 participants) at an event organized by Radio Kameleon in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 1 September 2007.

Largest group hug
The largest group hug involved 6,623 participants who gathered in Chamizal Park in Juárez, Mexico on 25 September 2005.

Longest kiss
The record for the longest kiss was achieved by James Belshaw and Sophia Severin (both UK) who kissed continuously for 31 hr 30 min 30 sec, in an event organised by PMW Communications, at the Plaza Shopping Centre, London, UK, on 6-7 July 2005.

Most couples hugging simultaneously
The most couples hugging simultaneously is 1,451 at a World Children's Day charity event organised by McDonalds Restaurants, Taiwan at Taipei Arena, Taipei, Taiwan on 18 November 2007.

I'm kind of competitive so I'm going to try to organize the record for the most people hugging and kissing while getting married under water simultaneously. I'll assume all of you are in!

Friday Night Lights

Blazer: Vintage
T-Shirt & Jeans: Gap
Boots: Steve Madden (bought at DSW in NY)
Scarf: Winnters
Gloves: Walmart
Bag: Urban Outfitters

Friday night was spent walking around and enjoying the lights of Illuminate Yaletown. I had originally wanted to go to bed at 7pm thanks to my unbearably stressful and busy week, but who would turn down the opportunity to walk through the streets in the pouring rain to look at light displays? Not this girl.
.
So guess what? I decided to ignore the fact that it was cold, dark and pouring rain and still take photos anyways (that's a first for me). I also decided to ignore the fact that it was raining when I put on these boots. Thanks to all of the wear and tear they now leak which results in some wet socks and cold feet. But I love them so much I decided to put practicality aside and wear them anyways (that's not a first for me).

I hope you all had an amazing weekend. I will have to get caught up on everyone's blogs as I had decided to take the weekend off from the computer (another first for me). I have lots of stories and pictures to share but first, I'm going to go watch a movie and enjoy some chocolate mousse (yah... not a first for me).

Tired Thoughts

Coat: Zara
Dress & Shoes: ModCloth
Tights& Ring: RW&Co
Bag: Urban Outfitters

I'm kind of really extremely tired which has resulted in very short bursts of actual thought followed by long spells of staring blankly at the wall.

Short burst of thought #1: I'm so tired that I just washed my hair with body wash. At least it smells nice.

Short burst of thought #2: Remember when I said that I needed skirts? Well, mission accomplished. And now I've decided that I hate pants so you'll be seeing a lot of skirts and dresses until I get back into another pants phase.

Short burst of thought #3: I don't always get weekends off at work so normally when you guys are all counting down the weekend I am telling you to shut up behind your backs. Not this weekend though. This weekend I will be sleeping in and enjoying lazy days like the rest of you. So this week, which is going to be a painfully busy week, I'd appreciate it if you could all act extra excited for the weekend so I can join in on the fun. YAY FOR FRIDAY!!
