I Learned my Shopping Lesson...

I left my most recent photos on Mike's camera so instead I thought I would share with you a huge source of my shopping problem. Fear of an item selling out.

I originally saw the Jeffrey Campbell Ripples (I want them in grey) on Modcloth and I fell in love. Following my boyfriend's advice (I'm still angry with you Mike) I decided to wait a few weeks and make sure I actually wanted them. Of course they sold out of my size.

So then I found them in grey and in my size on Sole Struck. Hurrah! But, I'd been trying to use my Visa less so I thought I would wait the 3 days until pay day. In those 3 days they were sold out of my size.

{This picture doesn't do them justice}

Finding them in my size from a place that will ship to Canada has so far been impossible but I admittedly haven't tried that hard yet.

So lesson learned. I will never hold off on a purchase again. Ever.

My new motto is: Buy now, Regret later.

  3. That is the worst thing! I often used to wait on something to see if it would go on sale, or if I really wanted it, but more often than not it ended up selling out (although a few times it has work out to be a super deal). My general practice now is to get something if I totally love it. It is working thus far!

  4. I hate it when that happens! Too bad you can't find them. They are lovely shoes!
    Great motto! Besides, if you regret the purchase at least you can return it.

  5. Nah, your new motto should be "Check the return/exchange policy, then buy." If you end up regretting a purchase, it's always nice to know there's an escape hatch.

  6. Haha! Nice shoes indeed. I'm with Lisa though. I do the buy now/regret later approach at stores I can walk in and out of because I can always return them, but online, I'd check the return policy first. :) Keep looking and goodluck!

  7. Oh no!! that's happened to me a few times, either they'll sell out online, or I'll think about an item for a few days, go back to the store, and they're sold out :(

    That really sucks. I hope you'll be able to find them soon!

  8. Gah! This is exactly why buy now, regret later has always been my shopping motto. I grew up on the prairies, where my petite frame worked to my advantage- prairie girls are bigger and my size always winds up on the sale rack. In Vancouver, the opposite is true. If I find something I love, I buy it instantly- which is why my Mastercard is now living in a block of ice in my freezer. Buy now, regret later doesn't pay- but it's much less frustrating than the other options :)

  11. Mannn, I hate that feeling! They must exist somewhere on the internet (or in person? there must be shoe stores in Van that carry JC?) Good luck on your hunt!! I will keep an eye out! They sure are pretty!
