Hoarders

Trench: Gap
Lace Top: Barefoot Contessa
Cami: RW&Co
Jeans: Old Navy
Shoes: Aldo

I'm having another (yes, they happen frequently) moment where I want to go through my stuff and minimize. I feel like I acquire too much "stuff" and I want to donate and/or sell it until I feel less cluttered.

Going through clothes is the worst for me. I like every piece in my closet but for some reason I don't wear it all.

I already have bags (and bags... and bags) full of clothes to donate from the last time I went through my closet. I think now it's just time for some fine tuning. It might be time to add a "Shop my Closet" to the blog.
That might be the only way I can part with these pieces... if I know they are going to people who will love them.

If not, you'll be seeing me on the next episode of "Hoarders". I'll be the girl buried under piles of clothes and shoes.

  2. Depending on your size(s), I'd totally be down to browse your closet shop and buy stuff! :D 2nd hand things are the best!

  3. I'll buy every single thing you're wearing here off of you including that perfect head of hair of yours. The lace + trench is so girly sleek!

  5. I hear ya - I'm moving soon and can NOT wait to weed through all my stuff and get rid of the clutter. When I moved to NY two years ago, I brought nothing with me but two suitcases, and now I have all this stuff everywhere!! Where does it come from?? Haha! Cute outfit!!!

  6. Hahaha.. totally agree with what you said. I also feel like I have way too much but then I always hesitate to part with any of it... it all holds some kind of sentimental value!!

<3 this simple look with pops of pretty details. The lace top with the green necklace are so gorgeous together, and the trench brings it from fun to totally sophisticated.

    Have a lovely weekend Melissa!

  7. Melissa,

An impartial judge might be just what you need. I can help. I organize closets for a living!

There are plenty of options for the stuff that doesn't go back into your closet: charity, consignment, a clothing-swap with your girlfriends... to name a few.

  8. Omg, I feel the same way about my clothes. Whenever I go through my wardrobe to chuck out stuff there are always certain pieces I pull out look at for a bit and put back...but then I never wear it! I also find I feel the need to get rid of old clothes after a huge shopping trip, lol.

  9. Love this look! The lace and necklace together are so feminine and pretty.

And I'm the same way with my closet!

  10. I probably have a bi-annual clothing purge, not because I don't like my clothes but because I have too many. It feels good to declutter but then there's always that one time when you're looking for the perfect shirt and can't find it then realize.. oh yeah, gave it away. I shouldn't be telling you this when you are having detachment worries, haha.

On an another hand, I think you have a very good market to sell your clothes on your blog!

Another suggestion.. giving the clothes to friends, then you can borrow when you please (I am guilty of doing this myself, haha)

  13. Such a cute Spring outfit! And I totally know how you feel about feeling overwhelmed by your stuff, I had a huuuge clean out before coming out here and while it was hard to part with a few things it also felt so wonderful to feel less bogged down (found a few hidden treasures too!)

If you do decide to have a sale though, let me know! Too bad we couldn't have a big Vancouver Blogger Clothes swap or something! xx

  15. Michelle: Isn't it bizarre how attached we can get to a piece of clothing?

Shannon: I'll make sure I let you know when I put everything up!

Monkeyface: haha i'd sell you my hair but you don't want it. Truuuust me (but thanks ;))

Rachel: Oh yay! Let me know if you take pics of your version :)

Emily: Oh my gosh good luck with moving! I really honestly don't know how we can collect so much "stuff"!

Jen: Sentimental value... I'll blame that for my inability to clean my closet ;)

    Jen: I don't need an impartial judge... I need a bulldozer ;)
Haha thanks for the offer, i'll email you if I end up needing help!

Lauren: That's what I do too! I pull an item out and tell myself i'll wear it but I never would. Silly

    Jessica Marie: Thanks :)

Jessica: Haha don't worry, I usually don't regret my decision to get rid of items so i'm not sure what i'm worried about! And i've given quite a bit away but there are certain items i've barely worn and I feel like it's a waste of money...

Jenn: I can't believe some of those people on addicted! Seriously so bizarre!! and thanks :)

Michelle: I think that's what it is. I buy an item and think i'll for sure wear it and when I don't I end up feeling so guilty. Then I hate to see it leave because i'm SURE i'll wear it!

Fifth Sparrow: Vancouver blogger swap! Not a bad idea!

    Eleanor: Thanks love xo

  16. I'm in the same boat. I have so much that I don't wear, but don't want to get rid of either. I'm thinking of challenging myself to wear everything in my closet within a 2 month period of time. We'll see.

  17. I really like your lace top and your necklace. Where is it from if you don't mind me asking :)
