Turning 28 in my LBD

Thank you x10000 for all your sweet birthday wishes. I admit that the idea of turning 28 intimidated me but so far so good!

Even though I had invited people over for a barbeque, I couldn't resist wearing a little black dress I had in my closet from Zara. I know the attire for barbeques is normally a little more casual but I used the "It's my Birthday!" excuse so I could finally wear it.

It's not easy to tell from these pictures but the dress has a lace overlay which I fell in love with. I have been trying to find pieces with texture and this dress was just so feminine and lovely.

I was trying to figure out the perfect way to accessorize it (I have this thing about birthday outfits) and it wasn't until I picked up the ruffled clutch that I won from Plum that I was inspired. This clutch is just as feminine and lovely as my dress and I adore the texture of the ruffles against the texture of the lace.

Dress: Zara. Clutch: Plum. Shoes: Banana Republic (I just wore them for the pics. Unfortunately they were a little much for the bbq so I put on my silver wedges for the night)

When I was in Plum picking up my clutch I fell in love with another bag and just had to have it. The price was right and it's absolutely perfect. I can't wait to show it to you!

PS. Pictures from the bbq and my birthday lunch coming soon
