August Rush

I can't believe we are 8 days into August. I still have so much summery fun things i'd like to do! Looks like i'll have to hurry!
While trying to put together outfits with all of my clothes as opposed to just my 30 items I came to a disturbing conclusion.
.
It was much easier putting together outfits when my choices were limited.
.
I kept grabbing items, trying them on, coming up with a reason why I didn't want to wear it and putting them back in the closet (okay, who am I kidding... I threw them on the floor).
Halfway through I stopped myself, picked up all the items I had discarded and one by one figured out what about that item made me not excited to wear it (this was a huuuge step for me btw). Most of the time it was the fit.
.
I have an odd body shape and I have this habit of buying clothes that don't fit perfectly just because I love it otherwise, assuming that I'll wear it anyways.
.
After determining what was "wrong" with each item I had to decide: Is it fixable? Or do I get rid of it? Hardest decisions ever.

This high waisted skirt from plum was one of those items. It's a little too big in the waist now so it sits a little lower than I'd like (fixable) and it was a little too long for my short legs (fixable). I got it hemmed and now I'm in love with it again!
.
It was perfect to wear for dinner along the beach.
.
I am oddly excited to fix the other items in my closet that I've been staring at but unwilling to wear for quite some time now. I bought them because I loved something about them and since most of them just require hemming they'll be ready to wear in no time! Hurray!
