Just Sueding in the Rain.

Top: True Value Vintage. Jeans: Old Navy. Booties: Urban Outfitters. Necklace: Jacob.

I stayed in bed in really late this morning and listened to the rain. When I finally got out of bed I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only had the rain stopped but it was sunny! Still freeing cold and windy but cheerful and sunny. I'll take it!

I took the opportunity to wear my suede booties. Suede is a scary word in a city with such heavy and constant rain falls. I have fallen in love with many suede pieces but even after spraying them to death with protectant spray they still end up drowning in the rain. I bought these booties on sale from Urban Outfitters along with the other suede shoes I recently debuted. If my suede items are on sale I feel less bad when I end up ruining them while prancing around in the rain.

So until the day comes where I have to put them to rest I will wear them with love. And I have to admit, as much as I complain about the rain it's a huge part of a city I love... and I have a soft spot for cute umbrellas.

  1. I think when you got out of bed it was sunny because the rain had traveled down to us!
And yes, you are brave to wear suede in this climate!

  2. Gah, I feel the same way about snow! People talk about boots that will last for years, but to me, boots are basically for ONE season... no matter how good of quality, boots cannot withstand the SALT and slush and snow that they must trudge through all winter long! They get so beat up after one winter, it's crazy! Annnyway, you look absolutely adorable here! Love your blouse!

  5. I'm in love with your booties! Hopefully we get some rain-free (and snow-free, eek!) days so you can get some more wear out of them.

  7. I feel the same way about suede. It's so impractical for our cold, wet winters, yet it's so pretty you don't want to pass it up! Decisions, decisions :)

P.S. - Thanks for stopping by my blog, and for the kind words. *hugs*

  8. I love your top, and try a protectant for your shoes - that will keep water spots from happening!

  11. I just bought my hubby a black suede jacket with my staff discount for his bday... Too bad his bday fell in November as he isn't getting much us out of it! I also just bought Suede zebra print pumps from Friis, and I wont get much use out of them this season...
