Girl of the Week

I am a huge fan of TheStyleSpy.com so when Nicole (one of my favourite bloggers and Style Spy contributor) asked if they could feature me as Girl of the Week I was beyond honored and excited!

You can find my Girl of the Week feature here.

Dress: Barefoot Contessa. Tights: Jacob. Wedges: Aldo.

This dress is one of my favourites from Barefoot Contessa because of the puffy sleeves and feminine floral print. I also really enjoy these Aldo wedges but I have only worn them the one time so far. I have to admit I'm a little intimidated by the height! Maybe if I wear them enough I'll be confident enough to wear them in the snow! (okay, probably not).

Now ladies, do you remember when I mentioned NOvember (NO-shopping-vember)? Well... it's November 1st which meaning the shopping ban has begun and I will have to resort to wearing clothes, shoes and accessories I already own *sigh*.

Luckily the ban doesn't include Christmas presents so I can use my shopping anxiety so spoil my friends and family! (Doesn't that make me look selfless? ;))

Let me know if any of you have decided to officially join me in this ban! Comment or email me and I'll make sure to check up on your progress... and maybe use you for some shopping withdrawls support haha.

  1. Good luck with the ban!! I should join you, but I fear that I will fail when I see some sort of Holiday dress that I must have, or some such thing. Speaking of dresses - this one is adorable! Love this outfit!

  2. I read your style spy feature...loved it! Good luck with your No-Shopping-Vember. I'm thinking about participating in another one of Kendi's 30 for 30 challenges...ahhhh! It's going to be much harder this time around, I think.

  3. I'm in on the shopping ban. I told my husband two days go that I'm putting myself on a shopping ban for the month of November and he laughed. :) Haha, not a good sign.

  4. Count me in for the shopping withdrawl support group! I just signed on for Kendi Everday's 30 for 30 challenge ( http://kendieveryday.blogspot.com/2010/11/announcing.html )
A side effect of agreeing to remix and only use 30 items from my closet in 30 days is also no shopping for 30 days! I can't believe I'm doing this...haha. It'll be good for my wallet and I'll probably get my Christmas shopping done for other early because of it! haha.

  8. I love this dress with the black tights and shoes! I'm doing No-shopping-vember too, along with a 30 for 30. I haven't had any withdrawals yet, so I'd say it's going well.

  9. I'm toooootally in. TOTALLY. By the way, puffed sleeves are the way to go. I remember reading Anne of Green Gables in Elementary and thought how puffed sleeves are the way to go... echo?

  10. Yay! Congratulations again.

And good luck with that shopping ban. I'm not even going to pretend to try. I just don't have the ability to resist shopping.

  12. I love this floral dress with the black tights. It's a great transition look for the cooler weather and yet not all dark and foreboding as so many winter outfits can be. Lovely! - Katy

  13. Congrats on the feature! It's always an honour to be featured on The Style Spy.

In regards to your shopping ban, good luck. I geniunely mean that because I tried that before and I failed miserably. I'm pretty sure everyone has better willpower than me though..

I'm looking forward to hear your results!

  14. Oh my! Those bans never work. You'll just binge when you're done. At least that's what I do! So I gave up a long time ago.
