A Day of Remembrance

I would like to start off by saying these pictures are not from today. We took them a few days back but then I got so excited about the sunny days that followed that these pictures were tossed aside and forgotten about.

If I was posting an outfit picture from today you would have seen a poppy! You would have also seen a sweat shirt and sweat pants (which I wore aaall day) but who said remembering can’t be comfy?

My Dad sent my siblings and me an email a few days ago reminding us that my Grandfather fought in World War II and while he was lucky enough to make it home a lot of young men in their 20's didn't. I didn't really know my Grandpa very well (he passed away when I was 4) but he wrote memoirs about coming to Canada (from London) by himself at a really young age, his life here and the war. So even though I didn't grow up with him around I've been able to learn a bit about his life.

Sweater: Joe Fresh. Blazer: H&M. Brooch: Etsy. Jeans: True Value Vintage. Loafers: Zara. Ring: Vintage from Brooklyn. Purse: Plum.

I feel like this outfit is an example of the recent ‘uniform’ I’ve been sporting.  Skinny jeans, a top, blazer/sweater, and a scarf and/or brooch. The shoes just depend on how much walking I’ll be doing... I’ve become way too practical. Okay so that’s not a very specific uniform but I still feel oddly repetitive. I guess the challenge will be how many variations of this uniform I can come up with.
Challenge accepted.

  2. Why do I never pair sweaters with blazers?! This is the 2nd time I've noticed you do it and it always looks SO cute and warm. Also, my poppy made sure I didn't forget today... while putting my coat on the pin scraped a 3 inch long red scrape up my arm! Even writing that sounds terrible given the point of today. But y'know.
