Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love dessert. So much in fact that there is a reason that until recently I didn't do much baking. If I bake 42 cookies, I will eat 40 cookies (and give 2 away.. because I'm generous).

My weakness? Anything chocolate. So when I decided to bake something last night, the obvious choice was a batch of Chocolate Choclate Chip Cookies that I've seen on one of my favourite blogs.

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Directions

1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir into the butter mixture until well blended. Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
3.Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or just until set. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

The cookies turned out better than I could have hoped. They are soft (I took them out of the oven a few minutes before I was supposed to), so rich and i've only eaten 2 so far.

If you are looking for a way to spend a chilly fall evening I recommend trying this recipe!
